| March 11, 2007 By Rob Hernandez and Tom Ziemer WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL Setting the pace... Grafton junior center Rachael Hencke is another product of the increasingly popular Pacesetter Basketball program. The elite training program ---- which also counts Jefferson standout and University of Wisconsin recruit Lin Zastrow and current Badgers center Caitlin Gibson among its players ---- is run by John Waring, who opened a training center in Waukesha. "You get together with a bunch of other really good players and you just work on your ball-handling, your shooting, your just all-around skills," Hencke, who has yet to commit to a college, but is hoping to play at the Division I level. "I know it really helped me." |

| FEB. 6, 2007 Shooting star - Courtney Weibel sets girls national three-point record By Dave Krider SPORTS ILLUSTRATED "...Two days after her record night, Weibel was featured on ESPN. "A bunch of coaches called me and said they never had seen a kid get her shots off so quickly," says her AAU coach John Waring. "I put her on my AAU traveling team [Pacesetter Basketball] when she was 14. I thought she had so much potential that I put her on our 16-and-under team. There were things in her shot that had to be changed. I taught her the two-foot jump stop, or hop. That's when she really started getting her shot off quicker."... |
