PACESETTER BASKETBALL TRAINING INFORMATION

All Pacesetter Basketball training is done within a small group format. We find that it produces the best, most competitive enviornment for the development of elite women's players. Our training philosophy is "you get better by playing with and against players who are better than you, not by playing with and aganist players you are better than". This helps each individual progress at a faster rate of improvement than working by yourself. You will be training with and against many of the top high school and collegiate players in Illinois and Wisconsin, providing you with a clear picture of where you are as a player and the areas of the game that you need to improve upon to be able to play at the next level. We also provide each of our students drills and skills to work on their own when they are not training with us to keep the consistency needed to fufill their potential as a player.

Training workouts last 90 minutes and are very demanding. They involve high intensity game-like drills and skill work. There is a primary focus placed on ball-handling (dribbling & passing), footwork & balance, game-speed shooting, position breakdown skills, defense, rebounding, and game competition - all areas that will help you become a complete player. We also focus on getting each player in optimum condition to play basketball. Every drill we do has a conditioning factor in it that will allow you to reach your top conditioning level, enabling you to be a consistent performer.

Each student works exclusively with John Waring, widely considered one of the top women's basketball teachers and trainers in the midwest. His unique "Progression System" of teaching is designed specifically for the elite women's player and combines advanced fundamental skill work, individual development within team concepts, mental strength & toughness, and conditioning. He is highly sought after for his expertise in teaching shooting with one of his students holding the National Girls H.S. Record For Career 3-Pointers, and several others winning the Illinois Girls H.S. 3-Point State Title.

OPENINGS FOR TRAINING ARE BY INVITATION ONLY AND ARE ON A EVALUATION/SELECTION BASIS TO THE PLAYERS WHO ARE CHOSEN FOR CONSIDERATION INTO THE PROGRAM. Please call (414) 764-6878.
